Comments: All artwork by Jim Lee. There are several distinguishing differences between the 5-card promo set and the regular cards. On all 5 cards the trademark and copyright information is printed in bolder linestyle on the regular card backs and the trademark symbol, TM, is printed in black on the promo cards and in red on cards from the regular set. There are also these differences on each card:

One interesting item should be noted here: the Jim Lee autograph cards are actually identical to the promo cards - showing the same discrepancies from the regular cards in the basic set. Apparently, Jim Lee signed an allottment of early versions of the basic cards.

The Toy Biz cards are the same as regular cards in the set with the exception that the Toy Biz logo is printed in light grey on the card back. These cards came packaged in Toy Biz action figures and were not necessarily related to the action figure itself.

Many guides list only 5 autograph cards, however, a lucky collector has informed me that there is a 6th Jim Lee autograph card (Rogue) that was randomly seeded in packs. The card contains the identical Skybox embossed stamp and was later verified as authentic from the Fleer/Skybox Consumer Relations Department.

The Nelsonic variants were presumably made as a promotional item in conjunction with the Nelsonic watch company. The cards contain the Nelsonic logo on the card backs similar to the Toy Biz logo (see Food & Product Promotions). It is not known if an entire variant card set exists, but one lucky collector confirms the existence of 69 parallel cards from this set (in his possession!).

1There has also been some confirmation of the existence of a 7th pack-inserted autograph card - Imperial Guard, by two collectors. The card has the Skybox embossed seal as on the other autograph cards.
