2002 Spider-Man Filmcardz

Comments: While not a traditional "cardboard" card set, Artbox Entertainment does make this set interesting by it's "film slide" format. Each "card" is made to look like a film slide, which can be viewed using a separately sold viewer. There is no new artwork to speak of as these film cards contain art already seen in comics, on covers, in various earlier trading card sets, and on promotional items.

Retail boxes contain a different 9-card chase set than those inserted in hobby boxes. Also, retail boxes contain only the 9-card chase set and do not contain the rare, ultra-rare, or autograph cards. Singles comprising the basic set found in retail boxes also differ from their hobby counterparts in that the hobby version singles contain the film cell artwork "sandwiched" between cardboard, appearing like a film slide. The cardboard back has a dull flat finish. The retail singles do not have this "sandwich" appearance and the film cell appears to be just pasted onto the plastic card back which has a glossy finish. There are 150 of each of the autograph cards (numbered "x/150"), with the exception of Stan Lee, which is numbered "x/500".

The tri-folded order form was inserted at the rate of 1:pack and contains an order form for the complete 72-card set and FilmCardz binder. If both are ordered, a complimentary viewer is included. The binder also comes with a 9-card uncut sheet. Presumably each binder comes with a different 9-card sheet which comprise the entire set(?)
