Comments: After a long absence, Topps tackles the Marvel universe once again. All artwork features characters in full body poses with minimal backgrounds. The Secret Identity chase cards (1:6 packs) come with a removable clear acetate of the superhero character which you can peel off to reveal the secret identity of the superhero in civilian life. Here's an image of Secret Identity card #3 - with and without the removable acetate. The Costume Change cards differ from the regular cards in the set only by their card number and offer no special enhancements or graphics to speak of. These come in two levels of rarity: Level A were inserted at 1:8 packs and Level B at 1:12 packs.

Both retail and hobby boxes were produced for this set, with Secret Identity and Costume Change cards inserted in both versions. However, only retail boxes contain parallel foil cards at the rate of 1:pack. Hobby boxes contain the Ultimate Spider-Man box topper cards at the rate of 1:box and Custom Cover sketch cards. The box topper cards are found only in hobby boxes. The Custom Cover cards, also in retail boxes, contain original artwork sketches made to look like miniature comic covers from the artists listed above. The Custom Cover sketch cards also come in varying levels of rarity. Note: After speaking with Topps representatives at the SD Comic Con, the rarity levels originally reported on the Topps website are incorrect and the Custom Cover sketch checklist as given in each card box (and as written above) is the correct one.

Sketch cards by surprise guest artists have also been found in retail boxes. Current information is that custom cover sketch cards in retail boxes were inserted at the rate of 1:199 packs. The Cover sketch cards can not only be found with character sketches in different poses, but also may not necessarily reflect the "cover character". In other words, I have seen a Hulk Custom Cover card with a sketch of Captain America!

The Ray Park autograph card was a "holdover" from the X-Men Movie autograph set. Ray Park auto cards did not reach Topps in time for shipment of the X-Men Movie cards, so these were offered at the rate of 1 auto card for each case (8 boxes) of Marvel Legends purchased.

The above checklist provides the penciler only of each card. Inkers and colorists on each of the cards are as follows:
