X-Men Food & Product Promotional Cards
This section contains all X-Men cards made for promotional food or
product advertisements.
- X-Men, Aquafresh Toothpaste: These cards came
packaged with Aquafresh toothpaste. A 3-card panel of pop-up cards and a
challenge game ID card came with each package and are perforated on the
box. The toothpaste package opens up to reveal the 3-card panel, a small
gameboard printed on the inside of the box, and an order form to send
away for an X-Men X-Challenge game poster. There are 9 pop-up cards and
3 ID cards to the set. Here's an image
of one of the boxes. Only a partial list is given here - anyone know

- X-Men, Breyers Ice Cream: This is a 12-card set
that came packaged inside Good Humor-Breyers ice cream bar
boxes. The cards are standard size and are attached to the box on one
perforated side so they can be easily removed from the box. The boxes
themselves contain 4 different X-Men character teams: 1)Sabretooth,
Gambit, Storm; 2)Cable, Wolverine, Professor X; 3)Bishop, Mr. Sinister,

- X-Men, Burger King (German): Sold exclusively in
the European market, these cards came packaged with their corresponding
action figure and were sold with Kid's Meals at Burger King. Each card
is regular trading card size with rounded corners. The card backs are
black with an "animation cell" overlay. A viewer or "wand"
(of sorts) comes with the card in order for you to slide between the
card back and overlay, allowing you to view the hidden characters. (2002

- X-Men, Captain Crunch (Canada): Canadian exclusive
4-card/sticker set packaged 1 card per box in Captain Crunch cereal.
These are slightly different in that they are both a card and sticker.
The sticker can be peeled off the card, revealing the identical artwork
on the card underneath. Text on card backs describing characters are in
both English and French, with the Captain Crunch logo on the bottom of
the card back (1996).
- X-Men, Captain Crunch (Mexico/Puerto Rico): Puerto
Rican/Mexican exclusive 4-card/sticker set packaged 1 card per box in
Captain Crunch cereal. These are similar to their French/Canadian
version in that they are both card and sticker. Text on card backs
describing characters are in both English and Spanish, with the Captain
Crunch logo on the bottom of the card back. These were produced two
years later than the Canadian version but all have identical artwork.

- X-Men, Chef Boyardee: This 4-card hologram set was
a mail-in offer. You received these 4 cards if you sent 5
proof-of-purchase seals of various Chef Boyardee pasta products. All
cards have the main character in the background with various X-Men
characters, smaller in size, in foreground. The sticker is roughly 5"
x 4" in size and comes on a card with a Chey Boyardee pasta
nutrition chart on the side. This was packaged with each case of Chef
Boyardee canned pasta bought. (1995 Marvel Ent. Group).

- X-Men, Hanes: These are oversized cards measuring 5"
x 3" and were packaged with Hanes boys' underwear. There is a
regular 3-card set (all male characters) and a recalled 3-card set (male
and female characters). Apparently, it was felt that having women
characters (and well-drawn ones at that) was inappropriate for little

- X-Men, Hardee's Figurine cards: These cards and the
5-card cello- packed set were available simultaneously. However, these
cards came packaged with small action figures of the corresponding
characters. The cards are smaller than regular trading cards, measuring
2.25" x 3.25". Text and artwork are different from that seen

- X-Men 2 [Movie], Jack-In-The-Box: Although released
not to coincide with the film, but to promote the release of the X-Men 2
DVD later in the year, this 8-card set was distributed with toys at
Jack-In-The-Box fast food outlets. The toy consists of a full body
figurine on a stand with a "picture frame" attached where the
card is inserted. These are nice lenticular cards, measuring 2.25"
x 3" and contain 3 scenes from the film of the character in
costume, along with their civilian counterpart. (2003 Marvel, 20th

available exclusively in the U.K. in various Kellogg's cereal products.
These are metal "dog tags" packaged in a card pouch,
consisting of a perforated card on the front which you can remove to

- X-Men 2 [Movie], Kentucky Fried Chicken (U.K.): Another
U.K. exclusive, these small lenticular cards were packaged in toys which
were available with KFC meals. Very nice cards with dual images of each
character, each measures 1 7/8" x 2 5/8" and has rounded
corners. Each toy is a full-figure replica of the card character and
comes with a stand to erect the figure . (2003 Marvel, 20th

- X-Men Legends, ActiVision: This 5-card set, similar
to the Spider-Man 2 ActiVision card set, was available by pre-ordering
the X-Men Legends video game by ActiVision. Unlike the Spider-Man 2 set,
these are regular trading cards with original art images of your
favorite X-Men characters. The cards are unnumbered and each card back
contains "key super powers" of the corresponding character for

9-card sheet inserted in the Oct. 2001 (#157) issue of GamePro Magazine.
The sheet is perforated for all 9 cards and promotes the new Marvel
video games, X-Men Academy 2 and Spider-Man 2, by Playstation. (2001

- X-Men Nerds I: 8-card set that came attached to the
backs of Nerds candy boxes. The cards are puzzle pieces and form a
larger image of all the major X-Men characters fighting Sentinels in
what appears to be a Danger Room sequence. All cards contain various
puzzles on the card backs. Here's an image

- X-Men, Pizza Hut: These were Pizza Hut promotional
giveaways packaged with X-Men videos. There is also a sticker sheet
containing 4 stickers that was available through Pizza Hut during the
promotion. (1993).
- X-Men 2: United, Pod (Singapore): Used as a
promotion for Pod/SingTel Mobile subscribers in Singapore, this 6-card
set contains various promotions from SingTel on the card backs (one for
free X-Men 2 movie tickets when you sign up for a pod mobile line). Each
card measures approximately 4" x 6". (2003 Marvel,

- X-Men, Quaker Oats: These cards were part of the
cardboard packaging on the backs of Quaker Oats cereal distributed in
the U.K. There are 6 prism cards, measuring 3.5" x 2.75", plus
a 6-card panel where each card measures 2.75" x 2.25". Look

- 6-card panel (Wolverine,

- X-Men, Sega: The Sega cards came in a 5-card cello
pack, presumably packaged with Sega video games. These are almost
identical to the regular cards from the 1994 Fleer Ultra X-Men set. The
only difference between these cards and the regular cards is the card
number on the lower left corner of the card back is replaced by the Sega
logo, along with Sega trademark information.(1994 Fleer, Sega)
- X-Men 2 [Movie], Tang Juice: These are cut-out
cards available on the backs of Tang boxes of "Mutant Punch"
juice pouches. The cards measure approx. 3 1/8" x 4 1/2", and
were distributed during the release of the X-Men 2 movie. (2003

- X-Men 3: The Last Stand [Movie], DVD: This 4-card set came packaged in the Collector's Edition of the X-Men 3: The Last Stand DVD box set. Cards are regular trading card size and contain two X-Men heroes and two X-Men villains. Here's an image of the entire set. (2006 Marvel)

Character Time sold X-Men watches and you got one of these cards for
each watch bought. The cards are slightly bigger than regular size
